Mission: Education on the importance of conservation of the honeybee
Programs: Detroit has many empty spaces like rooftops, balconies, and vacant lots. In 2017 29 hives were placed in some of these spaces. 2018 is projected to bring 70 hives. We have organized honey harvests to engage and educate the public.
we maintain an apiary at oakland university to educate about honeybees and their conservation. We advised detroits city planners about beekeeping within city and urban communities. Hold interactive presentations at nature centers.
partner with local food extablishments to use our honey in their menus. Maintain 4 honey bee hives atop cobo center living green roof. Present to neighborhood groups to educate about pollinator gardens and beekeeping.
