It is great replacement and worked well with Bissell Vaccum 1700. I didn't know that we should be replacing the brush often after changing it is cleaning more than the previous one.

Fit my Bissell just fine. So far so good. I bought my vacuum maybe 8 months ago. So, it's fairly new. Hopefully the replacement will last longer than the original. My husband does like to keep it set on bare floor, even on high pile carpet. Maybe he'll listen now. Doubt it.

The roller was a direct replacement and super easy to install. Because the old roller had locked up, the belt was in sad shape. I ended up making a special trip to the store for a new one. I should have saved myself a few dollars and a little effort by ordering replacing both at the same time.

I have 3 identical vacs that use this part. Ordered one to repair and see if it worked well and when it did, I ordered another to fix the second vac. The price is probably good since I didn't look around but bounces up and down. On the 2nd vac, I sat the new roll next to the old one and when I ran to get the mail, I came back in and the dog had eaten the ends off the new one and left the old one alone. I don't know if new ones have a smell or what, but that's the only reason it gets the 4 stars. I hate doing reviews, but wanted people to know... Don't leave it laying around in case it draws your dog too because you'll be out a pretty penny like I am if you do.
