Mission: Acquire and maintain land for conservation
Programs: The land trust considered various properties for acquistion and to be retained in their natural state and available for educational purposes as appropriate, in several branford neighborhoods. Certain properties were acquired and conservation easements were obtained on properties.
maintained existing parcels of land by marking trails, paths & boundaries, trimming where needed and replacing signs, fencing & removing trash. All of the labor in this effort was performed by volunteers. Approximately 950 acres are held by the trust. Also, the trust monitored, enforced and incurred expenses related to conservation easements it holds.
education: the trust conducts classes, sponsors walks and camps to animals in their natural habitats and conservation of open lands. These programs were attended by hundreds of people throughout the year.
