Really wanted to love this set. I thought for sure the illustrations would be colorful enough for a toddler but not too busy. So the pro is, the illustrations are great. Really simple, charming style and it even clearly shows Capital and Lowercase letters. The cons: The cards themselves are a bit smaller and feel flimsier than a regular deck of playing cards. Did not have a deck to compare it to but this seems to be the case. But I'm willing to look past those things. The biggest con for me was that for a game of Matching, the pairs of cards contain differing labels. For instance, one image of an apple reads 34;Apple34; and the other reads 34;Aa34;...34;Worm34; vs 34;Ww34; and so on. This has caused tremendous confusion for my little one still figuring out the mechanics of the game. When your two year old points out to YOU they look different, its a problem. Others have mentioned some cards use troubling items for pronunciation. C is for Cheese for instance, not 34;Ch34; So its a good size for traveling, but without the cards actually matching, I may have to hold off a bit so its not as confusing. I got a cheaper 3-in-1 set with an Old maid that doubles as a Matching game instead.
