I gave it 5 stars because it is a great chalk however, I was not allowed to use the black chalk at my local pool hall since their tables are green. I am going to reorder another color that will work.

The black gets everywhere on your hands. Seems more 'chalky' than other chalks if that makes any sense.

I love this chalk. It is a soft compound, so it is easy to apply to the cue. It leaves marks on the balls obviously, and may get on the shaft, but the chalk does exactly what you expect chalk to do, and it does it well. I do wish it came in other colors however, I prefer white or tan as it doesn't color the shaft as much. I ended up using black as I think it looked best out of my range of options.
