Since it's March I cant really review how well this works in the sand but I will come back later in the year to update if anything changes. I did test this out in a big tub of potting soil and it was very easy to screw into the ground and was held in place very well even though potting soil is much less dense than sand. The length and diameter of the anchor is a very big positive, last year at the beach I purchased a much shorter and bigger around anchor and had issues getting it into the ground far enough, this one is long and skinny but with big screws and should work so much better!<br /><br />I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

I purchased this product to use at the beach next summer because we purchased a cheap-o beach umbrella from Walmart that seems to always come out of the sand no matter how far down we push it! I have not used it in the sand yet (considering it's February) but I did insert the umbrella to make sure it would fit, and it does! This thing is much larger than I expected it to be! It is thick, sturdy plastic and I believe that it will withstand the winds at the beach this summer! It is narrow and will easily fit into a beach bag or could be carried without being in the way. I was able to purchase this item at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion and review!
