Mission: Founded in 1917 as the Buffalo Bill Memorial Association, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West (BBCW) is a museum that connects people to the stories of the American West. Founded to preserve the legacy and vision of Colonel William F. Cody, the BBCW is the oldest and most comprehensive museum of the West; over the years it has become much more than a monument to the life and times of Buffalo Bill. The BBCW is comprised of five museums and a research library: the Whitney Western Art Museum, the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indian Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum, the Draper Natural History Museum, and the McCracken Research Library. (Less)

Buffalo Bill Center of the West is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1939, and donations are tax-deductible.
