Mission: Building Families First Community Organization (f/k/a Ways to Family Self-Sufficiency) is a 501c nonprofit that cultivates strong, cohesive families by creating opportunities, strengthening assets and building communities. We encourage families to take ownership of their lives and adopt financially responsible behavior, while becoming independent of governmental assistance

Results: Since 2008,1172 Individuals gain full time, stable (living wage) employment, provided case management to over 602 individuals, gave away over 1510 backpacks to kids in need, assisted 132 individuals into self-sufficiency and off government assistance and assisted over 562 families with Medical Insurance, 2718 with Food assistance and 1968 from being evicted from their home.

Target demographics: individuals to become self-sufficient and off ALL forms of government assistance!

Direct beneficiaries per year: 62 Homeless was housed, 210 Children received backpacks full with supplies, 4 Families are now homeowners, assited 712 from eviction, assited 62 seniors from forecloure and revitalized over 7 homes in the Detroit area
