They are very soft caramels. The flavor is very creamy and rich - I don't think there is anything artificial going on with these. It just tastes like vanilla, butter, cream, and salt. you can tell they are small batch.I like how they are wrapped. I would keep them stored in a cool place though, not out in the sun or anything because they are already pretty soft. I was a big fan of the coarse salt crystals being used for the sea salt ones. You get a nice little crunch of a salt crystal which is a pleasant burst of flavor. I think the amount of salt is pefect - like a couple of grains in each piece.
