This lock is built like a tank, and the locking mechanism snaps together easily and Securely. I like the redundant clip that makes this unit doubly secure, and the O-ring seal on the latch pin along with the rubber cover on the keyhole end do a great job sealing against dirt and water.

Installed and left alone. Seems ok. Haven't attempted to remove it yet. I shot lube into the lock before Install just in case.

Is this one of the more expensive hitch lock pins on the market ? Yes. Is it worth it ? Yes. A quality piece of hardware. The stainless steel and excellent machining are nice, but a good feature is the lock mechanism. It is heavy. Also very important is the traditional spring pin in front of the lock. Double protection against a failure. Having had an under $20 cheapo lock break (thankfully the hitch and travel trailer did not separate from the truck which would have been a disaster), I will never again use a hitch pin that does not have both. The failure of inexpensive lock pins is more common than you would think.

A little pricey but, you get what you pay for. High quality. Heavy duty. Versitile.

only reason it is not 5 star is I have not towed anything HEAVY yet to see how it handles a load more than 2-3000 lbs.

Only used a couple of times so far but it does the job and appears to be sturdy enough to handle our 24' Nash trailer for extended towing.

I was looking for a quality receiver hitch lock, but one specifically that provided a secondary method of retaining the pin. I do not trust the lock alone, and the risk is too great of having the pin walk out if the lock malfunctions. There are several models out there that provide for this secondary pin, but they were almost all cheap chrome plated. This was the only one I could find that used stainless steel pin, stainless components in the lock as well.

Would have given a 5 star but it is scratched up a little.Looks like someone used it then returned it before I got it.It seems to be better made than the cheaper ones I have used in the past
