Bought this after our previous hitch lock seized up and I had to cut it off. The first BP hitch lock is still functioning fine so far after a years use. Northeast, salted roads, saltwater. Will still probably seize up eventually. Locking it on can be tricky. Pushing it on enough and turning the key takes some dexterity. Put the R-pin in so it doesn't slide when pressing on the lock if you can. I always give it a good pull to double check it's locked on. Agree with other reviews that the R-pin should be stainless steel at this price point. Hopefully lasts.

It's a good lock, does what it's supposed to do. My only thing with it is that it's now leaving rust marks on the hitch. I will not be using it anymore and wasted money on it.

Great solid pin however my receiver configuration doesn't allow the safety pin to be in placeThe holes should be farther out towards the locking device. My receiver is to wide on my 12 duramax. I thought they would have kept that in mind for these trucks. However the pin does feel more secure then my previous one that was very loose and wobbly on the locking part

Lock mechanism works great. However, there is a lot of play even with pin in the closest position. Also for the price, I would expect a stainless steel R pin!

The pin itself is well machined and sturdy but the locking part is very short flimsy and looks like it would be really easy to snap off with a section of pipe.

During a cross country trip we unhooked our Airstream and when we hooked back up and had some trouble getting the device to lock. I played with it a little and got it to worked but it deeply concerned me. Every time we stopped for rest or fuel I double check it. Sure enough - lock came apart at 65mph and the lost the pin. Thank God fur surge brakes and safety chains. I walked down I-10 for a mile trying to find it but could not - plus there was too much traffic to even make an attempt even if I had. I was able to re-attach our blue ox (had the original lynch pin). Luckily - there was a tire shop less than a mile from and I replaced the 2 rear trailer tires (on on each side). Then drove 330 miles to San Antonio to get a new Blue Ox installed. Don't waste your money or risk you life with this pile of junk.

It seems to be well made the key is easily accessible and has a cover over the lock portion to keep water and dirt from entering.

Installed and left alone. Seems ok. Haven't attempted to remove it yet. I shot lube into the lock before Install just in case.

only reason it is not 5 star is I have not towed anything HEAVY yet to see how it handles a load more than 2-3000 lbs.

Would have given a 5 star but it is scratched up a little.Looks like someone used it then returned it before I got it.It seems to be better made than the cheaper ones I have used in the past
