I purchased these as I am always looking for new options for entrees. They are interesting. You can't eat them on their own, either dry or cooked, they have almost no flavor. I soak them for about 10m, gently dry them out, then throw them in a saute pan with some salt and oil until they brown up in 10-15m or so. They end up tasting like whatever you cook them with, but are reminiscent of tempeh. The texture is vaguely chicken-like but more spongy/less fibrous. Not very filling, compared to most carbs, but I think it would compliment sauteed vegetables well in a way which is a bit more natural than most tofu.Pricewise, too expensive. I might pay half this price for soy curls, especially considering what they are, but I wouldn't buy them again at this price point. Happy to do so to try them out, but not as part of my regular grocery list.Would recommend trying, at least.

Flavor and texture is more like textured veg protein and not the dried bean curd sticks (Yuba) I was hoping for. That being said, I'm now kinda hooked on this. Easy and expeditious, it soaks liquid in fairly quickly while retaining good consistency.

The flavor was very tasty and it was easy to use and I can see how it can be used in many dishes to enhance them. It was my first time trying soy curls but will not be the last

This is a tasty product, even for meat eaters like myself. Really great to add a bit of protein and flavor to rice bowls, pasta, or really anywhere else you would add chicken or meat. It's also gluten free which is a plus.

I'm vegan and I use soy curls as a meat alternative. They are excellent in stews, soups, stir fry and beans.

Those soy curls are an excellent protein option in stews and soups. My favorite use is in sweet potato stew made in an instant pot for a quick fall meal.

I love meat. There, I said it. Pork, beef, chicken, you name it. It's simply delicious. And it can also be unethical and cruel and unhealthy and bad for the environment. What's a carnivore to do????Try these soy curls. Seriously. These soy curls come really close to chicken. The texture is great (be sure to really squeeze the water out once you reconstitute). The flavor is anything you want it to be. I've made all manner of Asian recipes with this, as well as various Mexican ones (tofu curls in salsa verde!) and I've been really pleased. Haven't even missed the meat.My favorite way to cook them these days is to toss them in a marinade that's equal parts (I do 1 tbs each) of: sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine/sherry/sake, rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger. Add some heat to taste, and then bake in a Pyrex at 350 for about 45".Perfect for stir fries, fried rice, noodles, etcTry them! You'll be glad you did!

These are great to use especially if vegan. There is a group on facebook vegan soy curls creations and there are so many recipes. we can literally use these for steak n cheese, as a chicken substitute, or anything. they store great because they are dehydrated.

The best substitute for chicken or steak. I've used them for wings, philly steak sandwiches, gyros, and more. They soak up flavor better than anything I've tried, and they're super easy to cook. I've made them for both meat and non meat eaters, and they're always a hit!

These were packed in a box with a case of dog food, so they were partly crushed. But moving one from that., these are incredible.I soaked a whole bag full in about 2 1/4 cups of water. I found by trial and error that it was best to put the curls in a long container rather than a bowl. The long container facilitated liquid absorption. With about 2 1/4 cups warm water and a bag of soy curls, I ended up with soft curls. Not mushy. So far... soy curl fajitas, soy curl stew and soy curl curry. The curls have the texture of chicken, but not the taste so you add the spices through recipes. Given the nutritional content (high protein, no sodium), I'm sold. FYI I experimented with one curl at first to gauge absorption, texture and taste before settling into dreaming up recipes.

My fianc and I have been vegan for almost two years and in the process have explored, what I thought, was most every meat alternative. I knew of soy curls, but given that they are hard to find here in New England, I never took the effort to seek them out and figured if they were really any good, they would be readily available. The other day, on a whim, I ordered some. Oh... My... God these are amazing! I made a quick batch of just air fried rehydrated curls to test and I just about fell over. This is hands down SPOT ON for chicken in terms of weight, texture and the taste (I rehydrated in a little veggie broth). I only wish I ordered this product sooner and it will be going into the regular rotation- Im thinking this will be absolutely perfect in fajitas as a sub for chicken and pasta dishes where chicken may have been used before like cajun chicken pasta... oh, and for sure pot pie. I am not a fan of the fake meats and only do those occasionally, so in addition to beans and lentils, which my family can only take so much of, this is a fantastic option that is also essentially a non-processed, non-GMO, whole food. AMAZING.

I was having difficulty getting enough protein in my diet as a vegan. These soy curls have to be re-hydrated, but work well. You can make a mock chicken salad, tacos and many other dishes depending on what seasoning you use.
