ButtKicker® brand BK-mini-CT mini Concert low frequency audio transducers are based on the larger BK-CT Concert tactile transducers that have received with rave reviews around the world since they were introduced in late 1999. Where the large BK-CT tactile transducer is meant for adding low frequency monitoring to a platform, the BK-mini-CT is designed as a single seat transducer that requires minimal power.
ButtKicker transducers are built using a revolutionary, patented magnetically suspended piston design. Not only does this design create more accurate low frequency effects (drummers swear by them for monitoring), it also lasts longer! The magnetically suspended piston design pushes the resonant frequency of each ButtKicker transducer down to an ultra-low 9 Hz, allowing for a truly infrasonic, and usable, frequency range of 10 to 350 Hz! While other transducers produce their peak output at 60 to 80 Hz, ButtKickers are still going strong up to three octaves lower.
ButtKicker's BK-mini-CT features a 2-ohm impedance and is best used with the ButtKicker BKA300-4/NW power amplifier. The ButtKicker BK-mini-CT mounts directly to chairs and drum thrones for focused low frequency monitoring without interrupting or affecting other musicians, and works extremely well with in-ear monitor systems.
Each ButtKicker transducer piston is built using large gauge coil wire, and is surrounded by a large metal housing that acts as a heatsink. Should the coil wire exceed 150°F (75°C), an internal thermal switch disconnects the ButtKicker from the amplifier for cooling. This allows for years of maintenance-free use! Five-way binding posts offer nearly endless amplifier connection options, and all ButtKicker transducers are proudly made in the U.S.A.
Note: ButtKicker transducers are able to operate at any angle. For the best possible output, with the lowest possible distortion, it is recommended that ButtKicker transducers be mounted in their vertical, upright position.
