Mission: Butterfly Haven’s mission is to enrich the lives of children impacted by Foster Care and families facing an immediate crisis situation. #MakingMomentsMatter

Results: Butterfly Haven has been able to provide resources of beds, bedding, small furniture, clothing, baby gear, health and hygiene items, diapering supplies, food boxes, meals and much more for children and families impacted by Foster Care and crisis situations. Butterfly Haven has also helped celebrate birthdays and holidays for many children impacted by Foster Care. In 2022 Butterfly Haven is excited to re-start our ReFuel Program that was put on hold due to COVID-19.This program wraps around Foster Families and provide events, activities, trainings and more.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2019, our Resource Center and ReFuel Center served approximately: 475 Families 1,875 Children 136 Birthdays 147 Christmas 26 Spring/Easter 47 Thanksgiving Meals 74 Experiences/Field Trip 13 Trainings 20+ Agencies we supported 45+ Agencies referred families in crisis to us. In 2020 we served 11,000 children and families; provided food drive thru's and birthday/toy drive thru's; gave away 50 complete Thanksgiving Meal boxes;hosted numerous Community Days for families in crisis and gave out Christmas and Easter gifts. In 2021 we served over 5,500 children and families with resources of basic necessities, events, birthday parties, and activities.

Geographic areas served: Overland, Missouri serving St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Jefferson County, Franklin County & surrounding areas.

Programs: 1.Resource Room: Provides basic necessities of clothing (NB to Adult), baby gear, housewares, bedding and toys. Butterfly Haven assists in easing the transition that children in the foster care system go through as their life is turned upside down and they find themselves temporarily in someone else's home. Each child is able to pick out items in our Resource Room when they visit. Items they can call their very own. 2.Pantry: Provides meal boxes, hygiene products, sanitary necessities and diapering supplies. 3.Referral: Provides basic necessities such as beds, mattresses, small furniture items (as inventory allows), bedding, car seats, specific requested items as our budget allows (ie medical equipment, air purifiers/humidifiers, safety items, etc. ). Butterfly Haven also receives Referrals from over 65 area agencies to assist families in time of immediate Crisis (fire, flood, infestation, COVID-19, transitioning from homelessness to apartment, victims, shelters, etc. )4.ReFuel Community: Provides members of our Fostering Community with support and encouragement for the whole family with special events, birthday parties, holiday events, activities, respite, and training opportunities. Small acts like this provide a lasting impact in a world turned upside down. We call that #MakingMomentsMatter. Butterfly Haven provides our resources to the families we serve at no cost.
