I bought this one because it's one of the biggest (18) I could find. Except for the larger size, it is identical in materials and quality that these boards have been made with for decades. I have no complaints and believe it is a good value.

Everything is as expected, with two exceptions. The board seems well constructed, as the stones and die do. The main problem I have is the way the two board pieces were attached to each other. The ends are not flush in the middle; one side is higher than the other. So when you send the other players stone to the bar, it doesn't have a flat (even) surface to sit on. It has to balance on one edge or it falls onto the board. My other concern is the hinges. They should be countersunk on the inside of the board; while these are attached to the outside. That may not sound like a problem until you slide it across a wood table and it digs groves into the wood. I learned the hard way.

This chh18 board is a great buy and the quality is just fine.Pieces and dice fit in their holders quite nicely and stay there when the board is closed.The field and points are nice and the stones slide just fine.This does come with instructions, they are the Orange color but I can read them alright.I carry it by the handle and have not had an issue, the hinges work well too.The field is gray in color, not the brown shown but still looks good.We are very pleased with it and have enjoyed plenty of games thus far.

This was a Xmas gift. Disappointed after waiting for delivery, the mailing box backgammon box were in perfect condition but when I took the game out of its original box one side had a slit across the top down the front corner. Since the both boxes were in great shape I can only imagine it was put in this way. Why? Unless a machine put the games in the boxes I have no idea why someone would put it in so it could be sent out, just to be sent back to them. And now I have to wait another week. Glad I had it sent to me not the person intended for. Otherwise it looks like a nice game for the money. I did notice my replacement was being sent out by a different vendor.

I think I paid about $40 for the set and it seems like a good set for that price. I saw many sets smaller than 18 inches for the same price or more.

One half of the board is higher than the other by about 1/8 inch, so when the board is opened, one half sits higher than the other in the center, and that's where you put bumped chips. Otherwise, seems well made, but if you can't put the chips in the center, then it flawed. Returning.
