My 2017 Honda Accord was chugging badly whenever I tried to pass or went past half way on the throttle. It only had 8k miles on it so I tried everything else first -new air filter, gas treatment - to no avail. I bought can of this and sprayed it thru the intake just past the MAF sensor. Worked good - no more chugging whenever I stepped on the throttle. 6 months later it started doing the same thing and gradually got worse. At 8 months it was horrible - I had to make sure I had plenty of room to pass since it would chug so bad whenever I floored it. This time whenever I ran a can thru it and started the 10 minute highway drive it scared me. As soon as I got on the road and stepped on the accelerator the car choked down and nearly stalled, then it sputtered and a HUGE cloud of smoke exited the rear of the car. The car then picked up and accelerated normally, but my check engine, low tire, and power steering warning lights lit up. The car ran fine however so I continued with my 10 minute drive and by the time I got home it was running like a top - flooring it would immediately push me back in my seat like it should. Got home and disconnected the negative side of the battery for a few seconds and all warning lights disappeared. It has been a week now and it is still running like new. I figured that there was a large amount of carbon that broke loose and hit the combustion chamber causing the huge smoke cloud which messed with the sensors in the catalytic converter and set off the codes. I'm going to get a oil catch can and start using this every 3000 miles or 6 months so I wont have such a build up again. Much cheaper than the $150 my local Honda dealer wanted to clean it out.

183k miles on 4.6L F-150. Engine very well maintained and already great except for pinging issue under heavy load between 2000 and 3000 RPM even with premium fuel. No codes. Figured it had to be carbon build up.Followed directions on can and watched a Scotty Kilmer YT video.Pulled a small hose just upstream of the throttle body and applied there. After the 1 hour heat soak period it ran terrible for a minute as it was clearing ita throat. And then it started to run great. It fixed the issue. Now I can use full throttle at any RPM or load and zero pinging plus it runs and idles noticeably smoother. Mid grade is in the tank now...can't wait to see if it will run on regular fuel again without pinging.Good stuff!

Does a decent job of HELPING to break up the carbon soot. Still requires some scrubbing with a brush. I will continue to use this product

I have started using this on my Audi S8 D3. Easy to inject and I feel that it is helping with carbon deposits. Will keep applying every few thousand miles for now and see how it goes. Going to try on BMW 335i N54 direct injection motor next..!

read the directions and you will be amazed how well this stuff will clean GDI valve carbon build up. the procedure takes about a bit over 1 hour but if you have a GDI engine this cleaner will get the gunk out of your throttle body and valves and if you have a turbo, follow the directions and this will clean and lube it very well.

Amazing product, watched several youtube videos and this seemed to be the ideal one. My 550i is direct injection and had a huge amount of carbon buildup, I used a can on each side, pulled the plugs afterwards, the pistons were like new, misfire codes went away. recommend using a catalytic converter cleaner afterwards as there will be a lot of carbon in the exhaust. I am using the CRC product, so it should clear it out.

Used this on a 2012 Lexus is250. Figured it was time. After following the instructions to the T, the tick I had was gone, the throttle response was crisp... just wow. I mean I know this has the most PEA (the chemical which does the cleaning) but MAN!!! These cars are DI (direct injection) so you will get some build up. HOWEVER, this isn't a European car with the major carbon buildup issues. Yeah they can get pretty bad, but most Lexus cars I've seen just need this every oil change (just before). Haven't ever had a check engine light due to carbon. It just chokes off the intake runner port. This stuff does an amazing amount of cleaning for very little money. Very happy

The stuff works really good for cleaning out your throttle bodies and all the muck and grime that collects within that area. just be very careful with your MAF sensor and other sensors. All cars have different locations of where the sensors are, so remove it if you can or protect it somehow. Take your time because if you hit that MAF sensor you could destroy it and then your car goes into limp mode which keeps you in a certain RPM range and then you have a huge problem on your hands. So use this with caution but it does work it cleans off everything.

I have been using CRC intake valve cleaner for about 6 years on my 2005 Audi A6. The CRC is used 2 times per year, early spring and late fall. I use top tier fuel only and Royal Purple products in the tank. My A6 has 140,000 miles on it now, no performance issues. The car runs like new, and I attribute part of this to using CRC. Yesterday I used CRC for the 1st time on my S7 alternating sprays between both turbos. I feel this product is not a “one-time” fix but should be used as part of a regular maintenance schedule to provide lasting affects.

This destroyed my car. I tried to take it for a ride at highway speeds after application and could even get to third gear without the car sputtering and failing. If I had seen even ONE review that mentioned an experience like what I am going through I never would have touched the stuff.
