We had some people come in to paint the inside of our house for us. We live in an old house that has wood frame windows. Of course they got painted shut. I tried everything to open them including a box cutter tool. Then I found this zipper tool and figured if this didnt work we would just never get to open our windows again. This tool was great!! So easy to use and the windows just opened right up again. I very highly recommend this tool

I bought a hundred year old home. Windows would not open, and this tool carved through the caked on paint. They open now.

Fits my needs perfectly. The thin blade is perfect for getting behind storm windows and effortlessly cuts through old caulking and paint. Every homeowner or handy-person should have one of among their glazing tools.

We just purchased an older home and per the inspection report, the windows were painted shut. So I searched the internet and came across this amazing tool. It opened all the windows except one. It did feel like I was going to break it. But it did what it was suppose to do and for that I'm pleased.

I loved this tool for removing old glazing points from my old wood windows. Before this tool I broke a few panes of glass trying to remove the old diamonds points with a putty knife. Once I ordered this tool, I was able to remove the diamond shaped glazing points effortlessly just by running the edge of this tool along the frame.

I used this tool to detach the glass portion of one of my vinyl windows in my home from its housing. I removed the trim on the inside of the window then went outside on a ladder and slid this tool between the window and the vinyl edge so that I could cut the adhesive that held the window to the vinyl frame. In my case, the adhesive was like a double sided mastic tape, some windows will have caulking or silicone. Either way, use this tool like a saw all the way around the perimeter on the outside, and the window will break free with no problem. I also bought a glass suction cup to pull the window away from the frame when the cutting was finished. Both those tools made removing the glass extremely easy highly recommend getting both if you're pulling windows out of the frame to replace them. I understand this tool can also be used to cut thru paint on a sealed shut window so you can open it, but I have not tried that yet.

Hits the corners better than any other deglazing tool. Good and sturdy handle. Wish it stayed sharper longer for multiple use but does the job!

We got five windows open- three that had never been opened in the 20 years we have lived in our house. It did scratch the paint up, but that's an easy touch up. I'm thrilled to open my kitchen windows this fall.

What a time saver. We had an incompetent painter who painted all of our windows closed and it was taking considerable time to cut them free with a razor blade. Thought I would give your Zipper Deglazing Tool a try and it was amazing; fast and it did not scratch the window frames. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. A truly great product!

I don't write many reviews - usually only if a product significantly exceeds or fails to meet my expectations. I have replaced numerous double pane windows over my life. It was always a royal pain trying to unseat the failed pane and I ended up breaking several, making a mess. In fact, I was about to give up and just let the man install my latest replacements. Then I saw this tool - $14 versus $225 for professional installation, and I gave it one more shot. Wow. Replaced two panes, took about 5 minutes to free one, maybe 10 for the second. The years have taught me there is absolutely nothing like having a good tool for the job at hand, and this is the perfect tool for thermo-pane replacement. At this price point, it is an absolute no-brainer.
