CRL Cardiff Series Pivot Hinges are designed for use with 5/16" (8 mm) to 3/8" (10 mm) tempered safety glass, and provide an extra number of application possibilities. Some advantages of pivot type hinges include the fact that they carry the majority of the weight on the bottom, and have the ability to be inset from the wall, enabling clearance for towel bars and other projections. Cardiff Series Pivot Hinges are self-centering, with four springs for maximum retention strength. Optional 5º Pre-Set Pivot Pin Sets may be ordered separately. The Cardiff Series is adaptable to our Deluxe Header System for shower enclosures not going all the way up to the ceiling.
NOTE: Optional 5º Pivot Pin Set (for Cardiff, Prima, Rondo, and Shell Series) Optional 5º Pivot Pin sets are available when you want to alter the closing position of the door by 5º. These Pivot Pins may be inserted prior to installation, or retrofitted after the installation is complete. Sold as a set of two, one for the top, and one for the bottom. Not included with hinge purchase.
Using two hinges with 5/16" or 3/8" glass (8 or 10 mm) the hinge will hold up to 100 lbs. (45 kg) with maximum door width of 31" (787 mm).

When lifting (or lowering) the sash becomes difficult using the OEM lifts, these will save your fingers.

I originally only bought one to replace a broken one. Once I saw how well made these were, I bought enough to replace all the windows. The old ones were plastic and these are metal. I don't see these ever needing to be replaced, so get some today, replace them all and you'll never need to do it again. Well worth the money and time.

Installed on one of my windows, the entire house had no handles on the windows, but this one is in a position where I have to lean over making it difficult without a handle. This solved that problem. Fit just perfect. Just be careful while drilling and lining it up and don't over torque the screw to avoid any chance of cracking like others.

I actually used it as a open/close handle for my outdoor screen sliding door. Feels sturdy. Its nice with a white and shiny clear coating. I hope it last.

I bought this to put on some windows for an 88 year old woman who is looking frail. She was having trouble opening her Anderson windows and needed something that she could grab ahold of. Nothing wrong with the windows, but they had no pulls. These did the trick for her and she is feeling taken care of. So yes, they are worth the price.

Perfect lift match as pictured these being metal will last forever vs the old ones that came off were plastic and yellowed from the sun fade. Watch the screw length size - my old screws were flat end not pointy. These screws were 1/4 longer than originals and I had to cut them down or could of used the old crusty screws paint those heads: I chose to cut these with a bolt snipper -easy fix
