I needed these to finish off the tops of 10 half-inch steel tubes which I added to my wrought iron gate to keep a new puppy from escaping my yard. I had the tubes welded in place, painted the gate, and while the paint was still tacky (to help keep the caps stuck in place), I gently tapped the caps in with a rubber hammer. Puppy is safe, and the addition to the gate looks very nice.

I use these for finishing tubing. I use them on table frames that I make from steel tubing.

From the description 'Fits tubing with outside diameter of 1/2It doesn't matter at all what the outside diameter is, it matters what the inside diameter is. The cap actually measures 3/8' and the plus is 1/4'.
