Mission: TO PROVIDE COUNSELING AND JOB TRAINING SERVICES FOR THE NEEDY, UNEMPLOYED, HOMELESS AND ELDERLY, AND TO OPERATE A SOUP KITCHEN.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2019, Crossroads distributed 32,485 diapers to families in need. Crossroads distributed 226,224 pounds of food, one bag at a time in 2019.Crossroads spent $8,278 to help clients with work uniforms, eyeglasses and certification applications. Crossroads spent $39,895 for documentation and advocating on behalf of clients to get official picture identification cards and birth certificates. Crossroads spent $2,591 on prescription medications and spent $39,242 on local bus fare for medical appointments and job interviews. Crossroads served 30,814 meals in our Sunday Soup Kitchen.

Programs: Crossroads of Michigan is a social service outreach agency with two locations in Detroit. Founded in 1971, Crossroads exists to support the community at large by providing emergency assistance, advocacy and counseling to any family or person in need. 14,294 individuals received counseling services in 2019.The organization provide funds and guidance necessary to secure photo identification and birth certificates to ensure access to housing and social service programs. the organization provides emergency supplies and services - food, clothing, prescriptions (on a one-time basis), and transportation. The organization operates a food pantry and a children's summer free lunch program. The organization provides funds to transport at risk families fleeing from domestic violence. The food pantry distributed 226,224 lbs of food to needy individuals in 2019.The summer lunch program served 2,259 meals in 2019.The goals of Crossroads Employment Office are to help clients move beyond employment barriers and find and keep a job. We assist clients in acquiring new knowledge and skills in a variety of employment areas including financial literacy and interpersonal dynamics. In 2019, Crossroads had 2,486 visits in our Employment Office. The organization provide funds and guidance necessary to secure photo identification to ensure access to jobs. The organization provides funds for transportation for job placement purposes. Crossroads Parenting Support Program meets weekly to discuss different topics, including developmental milestones, nutrition, and discipline. We are able to provide diapers and formula to parents. Crossroads of Michigan is the only Sunday Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
