I repeated the test several times, swapping the test remotes and reconnecting, one of the two cables consistently passes and the other consistently shows split.

Here's the thing. I quickly needed a short CAT6 cable and this was cheap and I saw Monoprice so I figured this will do fine. This cable, as others have pointed out, is very hard to remove once it's plugged in. I had to use needle nose pliers to get this thing out. Follow the advice of another reviewer and take some nail clippers and clip off part of that black rubber thing that holds the clip in place. It is way too tight. 3 stars for price. 1 star for easy removal.

The connectors are extremely hard to remove. If I would have known there was a guard on top, I never would have bought them.

Cable is great for the price with one flaw. Do yourself a favor and use nail clippers to trim the sharp tabs down a bit or you won't be able to remove without special tools. I'm talking about the tab where it catches after clicking in place, where it goes from thin (the one you press) to where it gets thick (the part that holds it in when it clicks). I also bent the tab all the way out a couple times to loosen it up, it's very stiff.

I give this cable 5 stars because it does exactly what I want it to do, connect my computer to my modem. Who knew that ETHERNET CABLES have to be updated every once in a while? My internet connection is noticeably faster with the new cable.

Good cables for the price, but they are hard to unplug. I had to use a needle nose pliers to get them unplugged. Very hard to do with just your fingers.

I tested a few cables including this one and this one performed just as good as the Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables I tested, pushing 1.84 Gbits/sec, and likely bottlenecked by my hardware. What more needs to be said? This is a defective design.Also, for regular cat-6 unshielded cable, they're way to fat and inflexible. Terrible product that should be taken off the market.

I purchased these 1ft long version of these Monoprice Cat6 cables to help clean up a rats nest behind a router with 1Gb ports that uses unnecessarily long cables. The length was perfect for this. The contacts are gold vaporized. The connector body is plastic and the strain relief is very standard and functional, like most consumer cables. There is a plastic hood over the connector hook to help prevent it snagging and snapping off when pulling the cable through other cables. I saw no network performance degradation after these cables were installed.
