Affectionately known as the wall sphincter, this allows you to pass cables through the wall without looking like crap and allows new cables to go through without having to drill yet more holes. Reliable and good.

These things are ridiculously overpriced at the big Box stores. You'll likely never see them anyway but they are nice to have. And as a plus the opening is a bit larger than the standard one of the same design so you can actually fit a 3 prong grounded outlet head through it.

these worked great! I particularly favor the 34;Split Port34; plates because I do a lot of retro fitting to 34;neaten up34; previous installers' corner cutting. Plus it makes it easy to add the plate after you run all wires, which is a HUGE time saver.
