I've had my fan about a year and so far it's been great. Until this morning. It wouldn't spin on it's own, occasionally trying to turn a bit when on the highest setting.I took the center of the fan apart and removed the motor. Tons of carbon dust came out. I hooked it up to a bench power supply, and ran the motor at 15 volts. It screwed like a banshee for a few seconds then started running normally. Even more carbon dust came out.I put the motor back in the fan, and it's running fine - for now. But I will be buying a replacement motor just in case (I'm not sure if the brushes are replaceable but I don't want to do it).
