I have a 20 pound shitzu poodle mix, and we like some rough tumble where she can use her teeth and wrestle with my hands. She doesn't actually bite, but she grabs and of course her teeth are sharp, so I've tried wearing a couple of layered gloves to do that. The gloves eventually tear, so I tape them up with duct tape aka duck tape, but even then a tooth gets through now then. Plus she can pull them off my hands. These gloves don't have that issue, plus the length of the wrist part goes halfway up my arm, so even when she's on her back trying to disembowel my hands, my arms are protected.About the only negative I can say is that I got the smaller cheaper version, which turned out to be size 16 and are much bigger than I suspected. I usually wear large or extra large gloves, and these are even larger. So they are unwieldy. But there's room to wear anther pair of gloves inside these, which might be helpful if you are dealing with a larger dog.
