We purchased these to play with our dog and you can definitely feel when he bites down hard. He also chewed the thumb off the first week of having these so I only gave three stars for durability.

Working well to handle the capture of wild kittens. Wish I had been able to get a smaller size for my hands. They came as size 16 - I didn't see an option for something smaller.

Starting taking care of a group of stray cats in my neighbor. All very sweet, but one is still very feral and didn't like being held. She would get very mean when it came time for vet check-ups or taking medication, and I got quite a few good scars from her before I finally went ahead and got a pair of gloves. These have worked really well with her so would recommend using if you have spicey cats.

I work with feral (not strays- feral means aggressive and scared/no human interaction at all/hissing spitting and biting and wants you dead) cats and sometimes they get out of traps. I had to catch one before she got out into the rest of the house, so I threw a blanket over her, armed these gloves, and scruffed her- except I missed her scruff and she whipped around and grabbed my hand. Hurt horribly but it only bruised instead of going through it.However, there is a puncture in the glove now so a bite through the same hole (albeit unlikely) would get to my hand.As with anything like these gloves don't use them as primary protection! You always need to have handling skills and other precautions, they're last defense for accidents like above where my hand shouldn't have been in her line of attack at all.

I bought these for handling and transplanting cactus. I can pick up a barrel cactus without concern.

I bought these to use with one of my parrots. I didn't want to resort to this, but this guy can bite and the last time he got me really good. They work great, I hope I don't have to use them long.

Husband feeds stray cats. There is one that tries to get my husband to pet him. With the gl9ves he is able to pet them and not worry if they nip.

I bought some very nice bbq gloves one time and the fingers were so stubby. These gloves are proportional to most human hands I’m sure. I have large hands for a woman. These gloves would be snug on a man with big hands I think.I’m using them to become friendly with a semi-feral cat in a cage. She strikes and I don’t feel it. She is small. Her bites haven’t made it through. These are bulky so I’m not extremely coordinated. Trying to place a blanket or towel ever her and picking her up with these on isn’t easy. Maybe next week?

I have had several feral cats; one was very feral and as the glove are rather bulky, I was unable to get a good handle on her and had to resort to other options to capture her. ON the other hand, on a little less feral cat, I was able to hold him and put him in the crate (he resisted with the back legs, without these gloves I would have been badly scratched). So, bottom line, they do seem to protect against claws (I don't know about bites though).
