Causes: Health, Health Support

Mission: Cancer support community delaware is a statewide nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Our members are adults, teens and children with cancer and their family members/caregivers. As all of our services are provided free of charge, we must rely on the generosity of government, foundations, corporations and individuals to continue our programs.

Programs: The organization provides the following programs for those affected by cancer throughout the state of delaware free of charge: weekly support groups for those with cancer and their caregivers; monthly networking groups that focus on a specific cancer issue; workshops for children and teens who have a loved one with cancer; art therapy; stress management; nutritional classes to minimize the effects of chemotherapy; bereavement workshops; and educational and enrichment workshops provided by medical professionals.
