Mission: Empowering people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhanced quality of life through the services of specially trained assistance dogs.

Results: Founded in 1996, CFS has provided over 100 service dogs throughout the United States.

Target demographics: Veterans from all conflicts with service-connected mobility challenges, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Within the last year, CFS has maintained its training operations even with stay-in-place and quarantine orders. CFS continues to put the health & safety of our Veterans, dogs, and staff at the center of what we do while carrying out our mission.

Geographic areas served: USA

Programs: Within the overall US population, the Veteran suicide rate is 50% higher than those who did not serve. Often, the transition from military to civilian life is quite difficult. Many state and federal systems established to help this transition by providing mental health and medical support cannot meet the need. By training and providing service dogs, CFS fulfills the unrealized needs of Veterans, improves their overall quality of life, and lessens the burden of federal and state agencies.
