It's a nice wool hat. Wanted a thinner wool hat. I have a ton of winter hats like this from North Face, etc. and this one is probably my favorite. Expensive, but wool is just better.

Kept me warm with temperatures in the mid 40s. Would opt for the full 250 wool if going in colder climates. I love smartwool

I don't have the smallest melon but it's not like I almost got casted over Eric Stolz for the lead role as Rocky in Mask. Be that as it may, this thing is small and snug. Too small. But, the quality is certainly there, and it's warm.

This is one of the most comfortable hats I've ever had, it's enough to keep your head warm but not so much you sweat through it if you take 5 steps. Lightweight enough that I forget I'm wearing it.

I love that this hat is so comfortable. I wear it jogging, hiking, and under my helmet for biking. The color option is fun. I like that the orange helps me be visible and the pink side is pretty. The hat is warm without feeling restrictive or sweaty, and the brim can be left down or folded up for different fits and styIe. I would definitely buy this again!!

This is a warm beanie and I do love it. Great for cold temperatures and defiantly keeps head and ears warm. If you get in a strong cold wind though, you will lose a lot of heat. This does limit the use for me as I am often in not only cold, but cold and very windy conditions. That's ok as I have since bought a yakamel windproof beanie for the windiest of conditions. I would recommend this product as it is warmer than most other loose knit beanie's out there.

Got this for my brother who lives and works in Vail, Co. He's an avid snowboarder and loves good gear. He loved it! It's not itchy, is super warm, and is still relatively lightweight. He doesn't get too hot even after being on the mountain a while.

Love smart wool! This hat is lightweight, yet warm. The cuff can be pulled down to cover my ears. So easy to pack and take along just in case.

Great hat for commuting in the fall and early winter. A slightly (1.5 - 2 times) thicker version would be excellent for the colder winter days.

Hands down best beanie I've ever worn. Purchased three over the past few years due to losing them on snowboard trips or what not. It keeps you warm and breathes well even when it's been wet. It's never been too cold for it and it gets to -12 here.
