Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services

Mission: Cape Abilities is a 501 (c) (3) Massachusetts nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve individuals with disabilities by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment supports that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community.

Target demographics: Cape Abilities serves individuals 23 years of age and older with a broad range of disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental and intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, blindness, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury, hearing impairment, mobility limitations, seizure disorder and mental health issues.

Geographic areas served: Cape Abilities currently serves over 400 individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod.

Programs: Programs offered by Cape Abilities assist individuals and/or their guardian(s) with determining which services best meets their needs and interests, and for which they may be eligible. All services provided support individual choice and control, community inclusion and promote attainment of goals and aspirations. While each program has specific intended outcomes, services are not continuous thus an individual does not have to complete one service in order to move to another. Programs are operated by Cape Abilities in Hyannis, Eastham, and Falmouth.
