Mission: To put faith into action by providing food, housing, mental health, adoption, immigration & family support services to the needy & vulnerable of all faiths in fairfield county.
Programs: Food services includes two of the state of connecticut's largest soup kitchens, a mobile breakfast program, food pantries, and a congregate and home-delivered meal program for the elderly. During the year, approximately 1.4 million meals were served through these programs.
family services provides school readiness for children who would otherwise not receive pre-school preparation, through the "room to grow early childhood education centers", as well as a full array of family directions services including adoption and pregnancy outreach activities. In addition, family services include immigration outreach services that have been accredited by the us department of justice to meet a broad spectrum of challenges normally faced by families new to the united states. During the year, approximately 2,500 adults and children received services through the family services program. community support service programs the catholic charities community support/recovery pathways program is funded by the department of mental health & addiction services (dmhas) and is contracted to provide skill building and life skill services to adults with psychiatric disabilities in the greater danbury area. Our services are trauma sensitive and culturally competent. The program teaches, coaches & educates clients in the community. We provide support & advocacy on behalf of the client when changes are needed or are not being met. Some of the services and resources obtained include: skill building, social integration into the community, entitlements disability benefits, housing, clinical connections, medical treatment, substance abuse treatment, employment support, education & rehabilitation services. Form 990, part iii - program service, line 4d other program service activities: housing services -the hopwa scattered site housing program (sshp) currently provides subsidized housing and strengths-based case management for up to 11 households. The sshp is designed for families and individuals that need financial assistance and supportive services to address their housing, mental health and/or substance abuse, and physical health needs. -the permanent housing diocese (phd) supportive housing program provides subsidized housing and strengths-based case management for up to 17 families whose head of household has a mental health or co-occurring disorder. -conger house is a permanent, congregate setting, supportive housing program for 16 formerly homeless single adults living with hiv/aids, a specific fragile medical condition, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder. -c. C. R. (connecticut collaborative on re-entry) provides intensive strengths-based case management and permanent housing targeted to 25 individuals with a history of chronic homelessness due to repetitive incarceration. -merton homes is located in the hollow neighborhood of bridgeport connecticut at 152-172 catherine street and 65 madison avenue. This permanent supportive housing program provides residency to 22 formerly homeless families. -bethlehem house has been in existence since 1989 as a transitional living program serving up to 7 families in the town of stratford, ct. Bethlehem house and catholic charities of fairfield county, inc. Merged with the stratford coalition for the homeless, inc. , october 1,2007.Since that time, ccfc has provided strengths-based case management support to families with the goal of independent living through economic and housing stability prior to discharge from the program. Behavioral health services behavioral health services provide family and individual counseling throughout fairfield county, connecticut. Behavioral health services have district offices in bridgeport, danbury and norwalk connecticut. During the year, the behavioral health services programs completed approximately 13,000 clinic sessions.
