Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: We believe in second chances. Our primary focus is the health and safety of the animals in our care- the abused, neglected, and homeless companion animals in St. Louis city- and pairing those animals with humans to better each other. We’re dedicated to implementing a long-term, holistic solution to the pet cruelty and overpopulation epidemic in our city through educating the public on responsible pet guardianship, lifesaving partnerships, and community outreach programs.

Results: Taking over the management of St. Louis City’s Animal Care Center is costly, but it’s simply the right thing to do. We are proud of our role in taking the lead in our city to ensure no animal is euthanized due to lack of space at the City facility. As of 12/2/2020, we have saved 3,679 animals compared, and no one thought we would save more lives with our current budget, which does not allow for the number of lives we saved. Our current Save Rate is 99.99% as of October 30,2020.

Target demographics: The vast majority of animals who suffer from the disease, extreme abuse, neglect, and homelessness.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 1800 animals

Geographic areas served: City of St. Louis Missouri

Programs: Nearly every one of the animals that come in our doors suffers from a multitude of physical afflictions that run the gamut in terms of severity, from the heartworm epidemic, Upper Respiratory Infection (URI), malnourishment to gunshot wounds. Our No-Kill philosophy is to go to the great length within our means to medically and behaviorally rehabilitate every animal that comes through our doors and give them a second chance.
