This is a high quality lat bar. You will not find one made better. The swivel mechanism is nice and smooth. The grip is perfect - no sliding, but doesn't hurt your hand wither. It is heavy, but its just like the ones in the gym. Also, though the pic doesn't show, it has hard round end caps that screw on. They help keep your hands from sliding off and because the screw on rather than slide on you never have to worry about them slipping off. Occasionally, I will unscrew them, slide on some standard (1) plates, screw them back on, and use as a weighted bar for torso twists.

As other reviewers say, well made, solid, heavy 10-12 lbs, swivel in middle is smooth. It comes with black rubber balls that screw in end of bar to protect walls, if you lean against. Seems to pull a bit of flat paint off the wall when I lean it there. 48 inch wide for a wide grip. I also have the 34 inch pro lat bar that is advertised as 30 inch, another solid bar with swivel, and is also good for tricep pushdowns. They both allow you to concentrate on lats and less on arms for pulldowns. Train hard, good form, avoid injury and have fun.

It's wide, heavy and well-knarled. You couldn't ask for a better lat bar. I bought this to replace the stock one that came with my Marcy WMW-988 and I'm very glad I did. You can really engage the lats from top to bottom with a bar this wide.
