For a tricep bar, it works. However, the sizing on the plate carrier is machined roughly an eighth inch too small. This causes a rather disconcerting clanging at the top of each triceps extension rep. That's not something you really want to hear A) that close to your ears, and B) when you have a weighted metal object directly over your head.I wish I could give the collars a separate review; if so, I'd give them 0-1 stars. They are terrible - beyond use for more than a paperweight. The anchor bolt hole isn't even drilled straight. Plus the plating made the entry threads unequal - you can't even get the bolt started. In order to even use these, I'm going to have to re-tap the stupid hole. Ridiculous.Note to manufacturer: buy a decent drill press and RE-TAP as the last machining step. Jeez, my 9yo nephew could have made a better collar....

To narrow between grip and weights, weights rub on arms when doing different exercise, this bar wasnt for me but would work well for someone with shorter reach and smaller build
