I'd been playing some pickle ball with friends and when I asked my husband if he'd like to give it a try, he surprised me by saying yes!Going by what little knowledge I have of paddles, I chose this one for him. He really likes it and said it fits comfortably in his hands. The grip has a good feel and he's pleased with the hits he's getting. For a couple of newbies, I feel we're doing quite well. The best part is we are off our bottoms and moving around. I'm not even sure we're playing correctly, but then I'm not really concerned. It's not like we'll be playing in competitions, we're just having fun and enjoying our retirements together. He said he'd recommend this paddle!

It seems like pickleball is the hottest new sport right now, and I would like to get into it (since I already love table tennis and tennis). I picked up this set as a beginner set, and played with a family member that has previously played pickleball. The set is easy to use, and the paddles are comfortable to grip. We have played a few times now, and I feel like this is a solid starter set. I also like the travel bag that it comes with. I will continue to use this set, until I get better and desire better equipment.

I am a casual pickleball player, and I've always used a set of paddles I bought as I was learning the sport. They are decent, but nothing special. I decided I wanted to try out a nicer paddle, and I picked up this Champion Shadow-X to see how it compared to my more basic paddle set.I am pleasantly surprised how much I like the Champion model. It has a great feel to it, and the grip is just perfect. The grip feels solid but comfortable, and I feel like it is going to last. The paddle is also a very nice weight ... again, it is lightweight, but it still feels solid.I've now played a bunch of games with this paddle, and the gameplay is great. I'm sure some of this is mental, but I feel like I play better with this paddle. My shots are just a little more accurate, and I love the feeling of a good strong hit with this paddle. It gives me the right amount of feedback and crack that makes the hit feel great. After playing with this for a while, this is pretty much the only paddle I want to play with. I love it.

Great graphite paddle. Perfect weight. Good grip suitable for my hand. Works well for spin as well as shots. Only issue I faces is has a bit of vibration. I would not recommend it to anyone with tennis elbow or shoulder injurie.Reduced one star for vibration.

This Pickleball paddle appears to be well-made, I like that it is lightweight, and the grip is quite pleasant, it has a mild foam give to it which is both pleasant to the touch and also gives a solid reassuring grip to the paddle. While I have not yet played a full Pickleball game with it, I did hit a ball back-and-forth some with it and it performed solidly. The size of the paddle face is slightly more narrow than that of my other set of paddles, and I actually don't know if one of the sizes is more typical than the other, but it does not appear to significantly affect the function. I suspect that a larger paddle size may result in a larger sweet spot and may result in fewer missed balls, maybe, but again the size difference is fairly small. If this is of concern, certainly take a look at the listed measurements for the paddles you are looking at. This appears to be a good, well-built paddle with an attractive sporty design, a very nice grip. I do like it. I hope this information might be helpful in your search for the perfect Pickleball paddle. If it was helpful, consider hitting the helpful button below, as I do appreciate the feedback.

We have only been playing for a few months. This is a big improvement over the cheap paddles we started with. It is comfortable and easy to swing for out hour-long sessions. I wouldn't say it has made me a better player, but I still like it.

I'm an absolute beginner at pickleball, but I really enjoy it. I was using a borrowed paddle (which was made of wood) but was looking to buy one since I hope to keep playing for some time. There are a number of different materials that these paddles can be made of, but I thought I'd try something other than wood to see what's out there. Like I said, I'm not going pro anytime soon, so I was looking for something relatively cheap as well. I got the Shadow-X made of fiberglass and love it. Light weight, good grip, and the surface has good texture for getting a bit of spin on the ball.I would definitely recommend.

So, I got Aluminum paddles. They're supposed to be lighter and give better ball control. My other paddles are fiberglass (different brand) and they're quite a bit lighter. I'm not noticing better ball control either. It's the same.Good grip wrap. These balls are indoor balls and really not very good quality. Rather thin plastic and have some weak spots. (Reason for 4 stars)Maybe this is just how heavy Aluminum paddles are? I'm probably going to keep using my other paddles. :/

Nice paddle, grip is very comfortable and stays in place in your hand. Does well on the court. Thought it was a bit overpriced. Overall, really liked this pickelball paddle. Would buy it again.

I belong to a pickleball league. I probably have 10 paddles, of differing construction and value. There's nothing to complain about with this Champion Sports Rhino paddle, the Rhino Fuse 100 (Graphite). There are lower cost models, and I doubt that a beginner will really be affected by the composition of the paddle. Quickness, reaction time, and accuracy are key. Use the paddle that works for you.

I'm just a beginner playing pickleball as we only recently got some courts near us. I'm addicted now. I started with a basic beginner set that came with balls and a wooden paddle, and I thought it would be kind of like a ping pong paddle. It was bigger and heavier, a lot heavier to me than I thought it should be. A friend convinced me to try a lightweight graphite or fiberglass paddle. Hers was fiberglass, but it still seemed heavy to me. My son got a graphite paddle for Christmas and so I tried his also. That felt so much better. Started looking around and there sure are a lot to pick from! By pure luck I chose this one because of the advertised weight of only 7.6 ounces, and I liked the blue/black color combination. It seemed in the mid-price range. I've been playing with it just about 3 weeks, and so far so good. I'm improving and can already play longer. The handle doesn't get gummy from sweat, at least it hasn't in the cooler temps of spring. I'm really glad this was the one I got. If it doesn't hold up well, I will update the review.

The Champion Fuse is a very nice lightweight paddle. I have been playing pickleball for years and have suffered pickleball elbow from overplaying with a heavier paddle. This paddle is about 7.0 ounces. The handle has a very nice grip. This paddle compares well with the GAMMA RZR paddle I was previously using.

Since various paddles are listed all in one place, I wanted to mention that I'm reviewing the Rhino Edge set, the seven-ply wood pickleball paddles with two pickleballs.I'm a pickleball newbie, so I'm not sure what aficionados will think of the balls, reusable bag, and paddles, but I like them all. The paddles are pretty heavy, though! Both of mine are heavier than stated (even before the customization mentioned in a bit). One is close to the max of 11.2 ounces mentioned, at 11.3 ounces, which is probably within the error a scale could make. But the other (though it looks identical) is a whole ounce heavier, at 12.3 ounces. I start to feel strain in my wrists pretty quickly with the paddles. The star being docked is specifically due to them being heavier than stated. But I do think the set is relatively quality-made. I wanted to take the heavier paddle down to the wood and customize it a lot (I know that's a big no-no with pickleball paddles, but I was wanting to do this just with one). Anyway, in trying to remove the edge guard with pliers, I found that it wouldn't budge! I quickly switched to doing a couple easier and more acceptable electrical tape modifications. Hopefully that's a good sign that the edge guards will hold up over time and protect the paddles.
