Mission: Improving the quality of children's lives and strengthening families through education, advocacy and family support.

Programs: Saline county early childhood school readiness project - an early childhood quality improvement initiative working to ensure that all saline county children enter school ready to learn. Assessed 360 at-risk children ages 0 -5 years for appropriate academic and social emotional development. Coached 14 classrooms serving at-risk students on developmentally appropriate early childhood education practices and provided scholarships for continuing education to 12 child care providers in 2015.

family mentoring - home based services for english and spanish speaking families include social work case management, support and guidance from a mentor, parenting education, family counseling and 24 hour a day advocacy services for victims of abuse. 5,874 hours of support to 318 families received one-on-one family services from caps in 2015.391 sessions of respite child care were provided to 31 families in 2015.

child advocacy center - in 2015,151 forensic interviews of child victims of physical and sexual abuse and witnesses to violent crimes were conducted. Provided 3,904 hours of advocacy to victims and their families. 100% of victims were referred to mental health services.

parenting education - caps, along with other partner agencies, provided 386 parents in 259 families with 13 parenting class sessions in 2015.2,429 hours of instruction and child care were provided to families attending in 2015.Happy bear - during the 2014-2015 school year, 5,485 students and 631 teachers and parents were empowered to practice self-advocacy skills for sexual abuse and bullying prevention. Casa program - the ottawa & saline county casa program. Casas ensure the best interests of foster children are represented in court so that a safe and permanent placement is achieved. 78 children in foster care were served by 41 casa volunteers during 2015.
