Mission: Founded in 1980, Children First (formerly Public Citizens for Children and Youth) seeks to improve the lives of Black, Hispanic and low-income children in the Greater Philadelphia region by utilizing systems advocacy and creative tactics to reform laws, policies, and institutional practices to achieve equitable access to high-quality early education, sound healthcare, effective public schools, and dependency/delinquency systems that heal children. We work with and organize parents, youth, and concerned citizens to advance these fundamental requirements. We publish compelling research, build powerful coalitions, and train parents, youth and concerned citizens to be effective advocates for large scale system changes. (Less)
