Mission:
Children’s Hunger Alliance is a statewide non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of childhood hunger through education, leadership, advocacy, and service.

Programs:
Children’s Hunger Alliance provides healthy United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) meals and snacks directly to childcare homes and afterschool sites. Our agency is a sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the federal program that provides healthy meals and snacks to at-risk children in home child care and afterschool sites. We currently partner with 2,000 home-based childcare providers who care for approximately 22,000 children statewide. Without this program, many low-income providers would not have the resources to provide children with healthy meals. We also partner with afterschool sites to serve nutritious food at little or no cost to the sites or families. These programs are vital to the children’s well-being, since many of theses children cannot depend on healthy evening meals at home. In 2009, Children's Hunger Alliance fed an average of 1,820 at-risk children per month at over 60 afterschool sites statewide.
