This ringer is plenty loud and the strobe is bright. I got this at the same time as the non-powered Future Call Amplified Telephone Ringer With Visual Indicator.. The ClearSounds ringer is much louder. The Future Call ringer not loud enough for me but it has an excellent return policy. Definitely worth the extra cost. My only complaint is the size and shape of this ringer. It seems overly large and the shape makes it rather obnoxious on a wall (it's obviously not made for wall mounting).

This unit was for my mother-in-law and she was present when I first turned it on - she was impressed with the volume and we ended up setting the volume at the lowest level - this gave me confidence that as her hearing decreases there will plenty of volume. I was pleased with the device

Wonderful product. Pro: loud, various tone frequency's, strobe is extremely bright. Option to disable strobe. Cons: Selector allows you to easily turn the unit off, totally! I have painted the area and that is not enough. Already accidentally turned off when moved. Next step is to tape the switch on. Complete with phone cables and power adapter. No battery option.
