Mission: NewBridge serves to bridge the gap between adversity and success by offering education, providing opportunities and inspiring hope.

Results: The results for NewBridge students are phenomenal. More than 500 adults have graduated and well over 1,700 youth have spent time in our arts-infused social and emotional learning programs.

Geographic areas served: Cleveland, OH

Programs: Youth program provides after-school art classes for students in grades 9-12 in a high-tech facility filled with the latest digital recording equipment, cameras, computers, and art supplies. Classes are offered at no cost to students, bus passes are provided - making it easy for students to get to and from classes and home. Courses provide opportunities for students to share work with professionals, the community, and the world through exhibits and performances. Art classes provided are ceramics, photography, graphic design, and music recording and production. Classes are offered in four sessions (fall, winter, spring, and summer) for eleven (11) weeks. There are up to 100 seats available in each session. Through these arts, newbridge inspires young minds to stay in school and graduate, possibly pursue higher education. Currently, newbridge is working with the cleveland municipal school district administration to revamp the youth program to introduce a social emotional component through an evidence based curriculum enhanced by using the arts in ceramics, photography, and graphics design.

adult program provides technical training programs in hospital nursing assistant/state-tested nursing assistant, pharmacy technician (until may 2017), phlebotomy technician, and culinary arts (as of june 2017) to help individuals obtain self-sustaining jobs that include health insurance and opportunities for advancement. Classes are offered at no cost to students, bus passes are provided, making it easier for students to get to class and home. Hospital nursing assistant, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy technician, and culinary arts programs run for ten (10) weeks, twenty-four (24) weeks, fourteen (14) weeks, ten (10) weeks, respectively. There are 18 seats available in each program. Through these programs, newbridge is launching careers for unemployed and underemployed individuals within the greater cleveland metropolitan area. Newbridge ensures the most convenient, comfortable and successful learning experience for our students. For example, we provide easy access through a central location in cleveland's emerging healthtech corridor and a space that is accessible, safe, and beautiful. Our students also have access to the latest in professional equipment and teachers with decades of career and personal success. Newbridge's small, committed staff works in partnership with other organizations to ensure that our participants receive the support and resources they need to achieve success. For example, newbridge partners with healthcare industry, our region's largest employer, to connect students to jobs as either hospital nursing assistants, phlebotomists or pharmacy technicians. These are fulltime jobs with good starting pay (over $27,000), benefits and built-in career ladders. To date over 85% of our adult graduates become employed in their profession within six months of graduation. In summary, newbridge works every day to transform lives, doing so in a targeted, innovative way that provides tremendous return on every dollar spent.
