That's actually a big deal, I think. I liked the earlier versions of this particular hat that were more fabric-ie and rounder on the skull; the later versions, like this one, have more of a bump upfront so that you can put printed matter there -- WHICH I DON'T LIKE AT ALL! And they're more plastic-ie. But still, I speak favorably of them because of their back-of-the-head protection and will do so until I can find a better-rounded baseball cap with a closed back.

Bought this for my husband. Very comfortable. The stretch fit makes it easy to fit different sized heads, and looks much better than straps and Velcro. He lovesit!
