Bought them for playing winter golf in temps above freezing. I especially needed good ear protection and these delivered, hugging my whole ear and back of my neck with soft warmth. These were perfect for my needs.

This has become my favorite mid-weight winter hat in Vermont since I bought it in Nov 2020. It's soft. It's a little stretchy. The ear flaps fold up out of the way nicely. I bought the men's version because I didn't need a ponytail hole and I think the men's is a tiny bit larger. Underside of brim is black. It's not the absolute warmest hat I own, but fine for when I use it when it's in the 20-35F range. Being able to fold the ear flaps up as I warm up while doing morning hikes and having a brim to block the low sun makes it perfect.

This hat fills a need I've had. Something to wear when hiking or walking on a cold but sunny day. You want something with a brim to keep sun out of your eyes but something that will keep your head and ears warm. This fits the bill. Finally. One suggestion: they need to offer it in more colors.

He LOVED it he works outside construction and has to feed his chickens all though the winter and appreciates warm ears!!!

I think I had this hat in my wish list for over a year before buying it. Shouldn't have waited so long. I have a baseball cap that doesn't cover my ears, and a knit cap that has no brim. Now I don't have to be without one feature or the other. My head isn't particularly large but this hat just covers my ears completely. The generous curve of the brim seems to work well. The stretchyness of the hat as a whole feels to work well for me. Only negative I can think of is that my hair comes out in an odd shape after wearing it but I don't think I should really blame that too much on the hat.Adding I haven't had it that long but it collapses better than an average baseball cap to fit in a loose jacket pocket and I'm finding it easy to pop on my head without fiddling in an ears not covered mode as well as covered.

This is an ideal hat for long hikes. I live in Colorado and the weather can suddenly be chilly and the ear flaps work great for that. It's wonderful knowing I have them if needed.

I have the trailheads hat with the ponytail hole for myself and my husband kept trying to steal it and stretch it out. So I bought him his own for Christmas and he loved it! He wears it all the time even if it kind of makes his head look like an egg. lol

In an earlier review, I wrote that it is a very nice hat, excellent quality but it was too expensive at $35.After wearing it daily for a few weeks, I was incorrect. It is well worth the price. I'm just a Cheapskate.

It fits tight but confortably, and it does effectively protect the ears, but you can wrap up the year protectors easily at any time. Perfect for windy days.

I love the way this hat feels. Its stretchy with comfy earflaps. You can tell its quality built. We don't have many cold days here in Florida, but when we do, its good to have a go-to flap cap!

I purchased this for my husband to wear on walks and at work. He is a paramedic and he is in and out all day and the weather in West Texas is incredibly labile. He said it is comfortable and not too hot with all the in and out he does between the element and the emergency room. He loves it.
