Mission: The mission of the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation is to fund and support programs in the community which utilize the extraordinary skills of working dogs, including police K9s, personal assistance dogs and therapy dogs.

Results: Since its founding in 2011, the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation has financially supported Cohasset's police K-9 program, including the 2018 purchase of K-9 "Einstein" following the medical retirement of K-9 "Erik". K-9 program funding includes covering all veterinary expenses, training and patrol equipment, patrol cruiser outfitting and specialty electronics. CWDF provides grants up to $10,000 to local disabled residents for the purchase and training of Service Dogs. CWDF's first grant dog, "Parker" is now in his 5th year of supporting a young Cohasset resident with mobility assistance, companionship and security. "Parker" is also featured in educational presentations to schools and service organizations on the South Shore. CWDF runs a vibrant and growing Therapy Dog program, which currently works with 10 teams of trained volunteer handlers and their dogs. Currently, these teams are regularly weekly visitors to the Cohasset Public Library, The Cohasset Senior Center, and the Cohasset Middle/High School. A new weekly reading program is scheduled to begin in January 2019 at the Deer Hill Elementary School.
