We bought two of these. This light is very handy during power outages: it's even bright enough to read by.However, as per the title, it is pretty heavy to lug around and the handle is uncomfortably thin considering the weight. The handle also squeaks noisily where it is attached to the lantern top, a hinderance when you're trying to be quiet. But other than the above criticisms, we are very happy with them.

Like the lantern I use it for fishing, just like the old gas ones, the first thing to do is make a reflector, look online you will see they cover about half the lantern and direct the light away from you, I used doubled up tinfoil, take your time make it just the right size and then use duct tape, just a half inch of the tape needs to be on the plastic, the rest on the tinfoil, I cant stand the light in my eyes, whether making coffee on the campstove, or fishingI get my batteries at dollar tree, 8 heavy duty D batteries for 4 dollars. Heavy Duty batteries are a lot less likely to leak ( Than alkaline batteries ) if they are sitting in the lantern for a couple of seasons, and being LED they still last a long time.

We've always been happy with Coleman products, and this is another quality example of why. Note, the lantern is fairly lightweight, but the batteries add substantial additional weight. We bought the lantern primarily for emergencies, so at this point we can only assume the battery life would be reasonable.

Bought this on a whim during a daily deal sale years ago and has come in very handy, from camping trips to grilling at night and even working in the crawl space under my rental cottage. Not the brightest or lightest, and the nostalgic side of me misses the hiss of the old-fashioned butane-burning version, but it's super convenient and easy to use. Best part, battery life is excellent thanks to the use of LEDs.

Takes quite a few batteries, but they batteries last about 1 1/2 years for us walking our dog for 20 minutes every night. It's not light but not overly heavy. Appropriately bright. Highly recommend
