Mission: Community Action Network (CAN) partners with children, youth and families from under-resourced Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures for themselves and to improve the communities in which they live. CAN’s programs are coordinated in partnership with individuals, families and communities. CAN services enable families to meet basic needs and prepare children and youth to become healthy, well-adjusted, self-sufficient adults.
Results: 97% of CAN's students graduate from high school (compared to 70% of their economic peers) (AAPS 2019). CAN students attend 4 more days of school per student, per year (AAPS 2019). 88% of elementary-aged youth at CAN's after school and educational summer camps have achieved an A/B average or improved by 1 letter grade over the 2018-19 school year.
