Causes: Community Foundations, Philanthropy

Mission: To promote philanthropy and provide grants to charitable, religious, educational and community programs and organizations.

Programs: The Community Foundation of West Kentucky promotes the arts in its serviceregion through grants to programs and organizations related to arts andentertainment. Other areas supported by the organization are museums and relatedentities which promote the civic welfare of the communities in the region servicedby the Community Foundation of West Kentucky. Social services, housing, and education have been the focus of program grantsfrom the Community Foundation of West Kentucky. Benefits supported by theFoundation include providing shelter, food, pregnancy counseling, and jobtraining for the disabled. Additional grants are provided to institutions engaged inthe education of the community. Education and health care are concerns of the area served by the CommunityFoundation of West Kentucky. Grants are provided to enhance and promote bothconcerns. The Community Foundation of West Kentucky supports various religiousactivities in the region by providing funding to assist in the promotion of religiousprograms.
