Mission: Comunidad Latina de Hawai'i aims to build a welcoming community and create opportunities for Latino families to connect culturally, integrate socially, and contribute civically. We believe that belonging is the work of the whole community and that integration of immigrant and ethnic minorities requires a process of two-way learning experiences and opportunities. Thus, we approach our work on two fronts. First, we serve our Latino community to assimilate more fully to life in Hawaii: ESL classes, immigration and social service referrals, and civil advocacy. Second, we serve our host community to help understand the presence and contributions of Latino immigrants in Hawaii: translation services, Annual Hispanic Cultural Festival, and immigrant talk-story events.
