Wet the hat, snap it, wear it. That simple. It will cool you off, especially nice when it is 110 degrees.

After each wear I put it in the washing machine on delicate. Then hand to dry. Great buy.

After the first 2 uses, and subsequent hand washes, the pile in the strap totally disappeared, in such way that it is no longer sticking to the other side. Hence it remains wobbly, unreliable - in short a waste of money!-.

This definitely helped cool me down when temperatures were over 100 degrees. You need to add water often. I took a extra water bottle with regular tap water just for my hat.

I am not really a hat person but for sports like kayaking they are a life saver. I take a zip lock bag with ice/water and keep the hat in there and refresh it when it starts to dry. It really does keep you cooler and the sun out of your eyes. I have it in 3 colors.
