The set is nice and you can't do better price-wise. Then again, The instructions aren't helpful if you've never played. The colors on the tiles are pretty, but easy to confuse for older players - particularly if they don't pay attention to the number of dots. The case is really nice but it's too large to pack if you're traveling.All that said, it is a nice set and the case is handy when going to another location and for storage.

We played this game at a friend's home and had a great time. Part of the fun was the center piece which had a space for the beginning domino. When pressed, the unit made the sound of a train choo chooing. I thought this would be fun for my younger grandchildren but upon receiving my order, discovered that the original center unit had been replaced with a cheap flat black plastic piece. Not fun at all! I am very disappointed. The game itself is still fun but an important aspect of the fun was making the choo choo sound!

We love playing Mexican Train Dominoes. We take it with us when we travel so the case is great! Don't worry about putting them away nicely though cause once you pick it up they are all going to fall out of place but will not come out of the closed case. We've only play with teens and adults but thing some younger kids could probably understand it. It's not hard, you just need a round or two to get a hang of it.

Everything is good, just little thin

But it is quite fun to play, and I normally hate games. The rules are a bit complex, but even I got the hang of it after 10-15 minutes.The actual product I bought is reasonably sturdy. The tiles are well made, but the fake aluminum case is made of a very flimsy plastic. Flimsier, than I, one of the world's great cynics, even expected. Even so, it isn't a deal breaker for me. It's no worse than cardboard. But then cardboard IS biodegradable.You're buying this for the game play! For that, it's worth it.

This game has become popular among my family and friends. We have Mexican Train parties. I bought this set which seems to be the most common set to buy. Everyone who has played with this set has one complaint. some of the colors are difficult to differentiate. It would help if the dark gray, dark green, lighter gray, black and even the dark purple could be different. They are difficult to tell the difference and sometimes the color is better than trying to recognized the dot patterns. I bought paint markers and we had a painting party where we painted some of the domino dots different colors so we could better tell the difference.FYI - There is a set that has numbers instead of the dots and would most likely be easier. I chose not to get the number set because I deliberately wanted to force myself to use my old brain to calculate the various domino dots. It helps to stay young.

This is a great kit. The box is comes in is nice looking and travels nice. The pieces are solid and professionally produced. The only reason for a star drop is because I think it was a bit overpriced at the time of purchase. Only one tile had dark mark and one had slight chip on side. Colors were good on tiles. Played game today with Grandson. Metal box ok for storage.
