After sustaining two injuries in recent years that would have benefited from these strips, I added a box to my first aid kit. Yesterday, I sliced through my finger hard with a new, sharp, serrated knife. I'm generally a big baby with bloody cuts, so it was reassuring to know I had this to help stop the bleeding. I applied pressure, elevated my hand, called a nurse in my family, and she advised me to use one of these with a slightly snug bandaid. I was too freaked out to look closely at the cut, so I just applied one of the strips quickly (I folded it up a bit with my other hand because it was a bit big for the cut), then put a bandaid snugly over it. It stopped the bleeding effectively and formed a protective layer. A day later, it's a hardened, clear layer that almost feels like a thimble. It's really protective! Because it seems to be holding the skin together, I have no pain. I gather from other reviews that it will dissolve in a few days. It seems unlikely that I will need another bandaid.Having put this to the test, I'm definitely going to keep some in my car as well as in my hiking and cycling first aid kits.(Sorry for the slightly gross photo, but I was surprised that there were no reviews showing what the product looks like on an actual cut.)
