I had no idea these existed until I saw them one day in my local pharmacy. I figured it would be a good idea to have around just in case. I never used anything like this before and wasn't even sure of how well it worked. Well, let me tell you, after accidentally snagging my dental tooth scaler on the inside of my lower lip, I can attest that not only does this work, it worked beyond anything I have ever experienced. I thought the blood would not stop, until I placed this on the inside of my lip right on the cut/tear itself. Within 30 seconds, it stopped bleeding. I was stunned. I proceeded to run water over the gauze which removed the excess and left the wound covered in the gel that forms from the gauze that is created when the gauze touches the blood. This remained overnight and left what I thought would look like a terrible wound in my mouth to something that I couldn't even find, as if it never existed. No open cut, no healing wound. Nothing. It's as if it happend over a week ago. Get these things.

After sustaining two injuries in recent years that would have benefited from these strips, I added a box to my first aid kit. Yesterday, I sliced through my finger hard with a new, sharp, serrated knife. I'm generally a big baby with bloody cuts, so it was reassuring to know I had this to help stop the bleeding. I applied pressure, elevated my hand, called a nurse in my family, and she advised me to use one of these with a slightly snug bandaid. I was too freaked out to look closely at the cut, so I just applied one of the strips quickly (I folded it up a bit with my other hand because it was a bit big for the cut), then put a bandaid snugly over it. It stopped the bleeding effectively and formed a protective layer. A day later, it's a hardened, clear layer that almost feels like a thimble. It's really protective! Because it seems to be holding the skin together, I have no pain. I gather from other reviews that it will dissolve in a few days. It seems unlikely that I will need another bandaid.Having put this to the test, I'm definitely going to keep some in my car as well as in my hiking and cycling first aid kits.(Sorry for the slightly gross photo, but I was surprised that there were no reviews showing what the product looks like on an actual cut.)

I had read some reviews, it worked really well for some people who were on blood thinner medicines. I didn't find it all that. I tried it on some cut fingers. Didn't really work.

I sometimes have places that I can't get the bleeding to stop. This works great. Saves me a trip to the ER

I suppose these might work on very mild bleeding, but I used them on a moderately bleeding small cut on my face, and the blood went right through and continued - this did nothing. I am giving it two stars because maybe it works on minor cuts or something like that, but don't rely on these to stop any sort of moderate bleeding.

The product works as far as I've seen but there's a lot of extra packaging for such a small square. It's only about 1x1 and the packaging is 3x3.

Before using [for nosebleed] , I soaked a small section of paper towel in Afrin [to 1st shrink blood vessel] pressed into nose, then removed the Afrin soaked piece while still pressing on bleeding nose. Next folded this small square of gauze into a column and slid it up my nose to the area I knew was bleeding and continued to press. I slid the folded gauze up my nose while still pressing on it to slow the blood flow... not easy to do, very messy . Within 5 min. or so this little gauze swelled up into a gel and sealed the bleeding section of nose. It expanded across the inside of my small nose but you may need two sections if your nose is large. There is no gauze to remove after bleeding stops because it completely dissolves into a gel which clings to the leaking blood vessel. The excess gel can be carefully rinsed out with nasel spray the next day but some will continue to cling and seal the blood vessel which is good and will continue to break down slowly over time. There has to be a lot of nosebleed to swell the gauze into a gel and this whole procedure is very messy as my nose was gushing blood pretty well during it but so happy it worked pretty fast once I got this dissolving gauze up the messy nose. I knew the spot that always bleeds it was easy to properly position this gauze.

I needed anything to help with the bleeding. I cut it to the size of the wound, so not to waste it. Using pressure only lasts 15 minutes, but that didn't help, but this product worked. No major bleeding, unless you count it bleeding down my arm, clothes and bedding

Work extremely well. I have been using this brand for over 10yrs. As someone who takes blood thinners it's good to have a product that stops the bleeding can be carried in a wallet, purse or emergency kit.

Being on blood thinners a bloody nose can mean a trip to the ER . Ben there done that. I bought these a few days later to keep in close proximity to keep from spending another couple thousand for a nose bleed. they are packed well and fit in the first aid kit in my truck well, I currently have one in my pocket as the ER trip is still pretty recent.
