We got this for a warm weather summer shirt. The material should be infinitely better than cotton for the heat - I was trying to find something similar to my adult hiking shirts and this seems to be very much like them. FYI it’s intended to be light and wick sweat to help it evaporate and keep kids as cool as possible, unlike cotton that gets saturated with sweat in the heat and is miserable to wear when you are being active.
